You can extend the zoom range of the Panasonic S9 while maintaining image quality. This is possible thanks to the crop zoom function and the hybrid zoom function. The crop zoom function uses the centre of the camera sensor to extend the normal zoom range. The hybrid zoom function uses both optical and crop zoom to increase the focal length even further.
