As well as creating your own presets, you can also choose to download presets via the LUMIX Lab app. Getting your shots onto your smartphone is quick and easy, thanks to improved connection speed and stability. This is made possible by a new recording format: MP4 Lite — an Open Gate video mode optimised for smartphones. Your photo or video can be online within 30 seconds, exactly the way you want it.
Extend your reach with crop and hybrid zoom
You can expand the zoom range of the Panasonic S9 without sacrificing image quality, using the crop zoom function and the hybrid zoom function. The crop zoom function uses the centre of the camera sensor to extend the standard zoom range. The hybrid zoom function combines both optical and crop zoom to push the focal length even further.

The Panasonic Lumix S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Macro OIS is a versatile telephoto zoom lens that delivers impressive image quality from edge to edge, for both photo and video. The lens features fast and accurate autofocus and Dual I.S. image stabilisation, making it suitable for a wide variety of shooting situations. Designed for the L-mount system, the Panasonic Lumix S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Macro OIS has an advanced optical construction comprising 17 lens elements in 11 groups. One UED lens (Ultra Extra-low Dispersion), two ED lenses (Extra-low Dispersion) and one UHR lens (Ultra-High Refractive Index) work together to reduce both axial chromatic aberration at the telephoto end and chromatic aberration at the wide-angle end. With a minimum focusing distance of 0.54m, this lens achieves a maximum magnification of 0.5x, enabling you to shoot macro photos and videos at up to 50% of life size. In addition, the 11-blade aperture produces beautifully smooth, rounded bokeh.
The Panasonic Lumix S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Macro OIS is also well suited to video recording, thanks to a mechanism that minimises focus breathing and suppresses focus shift during zooming — keeping your subject sharp at all times. Despite its impressive range, the lens remains compact and lightweight, and is resistant to dust, splashwater and temperatures down to -10°C. The front element features a fluorine coating that repels water and dust, and the filter diameter is 77mm.
