The SIGMA 500mm f/5.6 DG DN OS consists of 20 lens elements arranged in 14 groups. Three FLD and two SLD elements keep lens flares, ghosting and chromatic aberrations to a minimum. The lens delivers high optical performance, even when shooting into the light or when the light source is within the frame.
The autofocus in the SIGMA 500mm f/5.6 DG DN OS uses a linear motor HLA (High-response Linear Actuator), delivering fast, quiet and highly accurate autofocus. The lens features a 5-stop optical OS2 stabilisation algorithm and is equipped with two OS modes: one for general shooting and one ideal for panning. This second mode provides effective image stabilisation even when the camera is moved vertically or diagonally.
The lens is equipped with all the essential features, including an aperture ring with click and lock options, and three AFL buttons to which specific camera functions can be assigned. The focus limiter switch lets you restrict the autofocus range when needed, enabling fast and precise focusing. The SIGMA 500mm f/5.6 DG DN OS comes with a removable Arca-Swiss tripod mount. The collar can be locked in 90-degree increments.
The SIGMA 500mm f/5.6 DG DN OS is dust- and splash-resistant and features a water- and oil-repellent front coating, so you can take it out on location without a worry.
