The NiSi True colour ND-Vario filter 1-5 stops 105mm is an ideal tool for photographers who need to shoot in environments where lighting conditions are dynamic or fluctuating and who need more control over their shutter speed to achieve their desired look, whether it's capturing longer exposures or a shallower depth of field.
The filter is designed to be mounted on lenses with 105mm filter thread on the front and provides an exposure reduction of 1 to 5 stops. The density of 0.3 to 1.5 darkens the entire image, allowing larger apertures or slower shutter speeds than normally possible. The degree of density can be easily adjusted by turning the front filter ring with or without the included silver lever, allowing you to predetermine the additional exposure length required. By slowing down the exposure time or increasing the aperture, you can control depth of field and convey movement more easily. The density transition is smooth, allowing the photographer or videographer to adjust the exposure length exactly to the amount needed for a given scene. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is visually marked with numbers representing the different stop values. The ring features silver serrations on the side for a firm grip and easy installation and removal. For those using this filter with cinema or video cameras, combined adjustments of the aperture and this filter allow fine adjustments to depth of field while maintaining the designated frame rate.
The variable ND provides True colour which prevents colour shift seen in other variable filters. The NiSi True colour ND-VARIO Pro Nano 1-5stops Variable ND is made of high-definition optical glass for the best resolution and quality. The glass is coated with the NiSi Nano coating, which provides a waterproof, oil-resistant and anti-reflective coating to prevent ghosting and reflections. The filter ring is made of high-quality aluminum, creating a very light and strong filter.
Focal lengths of 35mm and longer are recommended with the variable ND range.
