With the Leica Q3 43mm, Leica is expanding the Leica Q3 line-up. This updated Q3 is equipped with a fixed APO-Summicron 43mm f/2 ASPH. lens.
The Q3 is equipped with the BSI-CMOS sensor with ‘Triple-Resolution-Technology’. This allows you to easily shoot 60, 36 and 18 megapixel images in DNG or JPEG format. Regardless of the selected resolution, the camera always uses the full size of the sensor and you have an enormous ISO range of 50 -100,000. Thanks to the collaboration between the sensor and the Maestro IV processor with L2 technology, you can enjoy a fantastic dynamic range of 14 stops.
In addition, the Leica Q3 is even better for the videographer than its predecessor. Record your videos in beautiful 8K resolution at 30 fps and 4K resolution at 60 fps, with a very complete set of codecs at your disposal, from the very efficient .h265 to Apple's ProRes.
The built-in APO-Summicron 43mm f/2 ASPH. lens has an integrated macro mode. This allows you to capture the finest details up to a distance of just 26.7 centimetres. In addition, you can photograph with the standard 43mm focal length, but you can also optically select your frame up to focal lengths of 60, 75, 90, 120 and 150mm.
The hybrid autofocus system ensures that you never miss a moment. This system combines a very precise contrast AF, a defocus system, phase detection AF and high speed when focusing on and tracking the subject. You are also supported by intelligent object recognition, so that you can take the perfect shot.
Finally, the Leica Q3 excels in the area of ??connectivity. You can transfer photos to your smartphone up to 10x faster with the Leica FOTOS app. Where you could transfer one DNG file every 30 seconds with the Q2, this now only takes you 2 seconds. In addition, USB-C Tethered photography with Capture One or the Adobe Lightroom plug-in is supported.
With the Leica Q3 43mm, Leica also introduces the Leica Chrome look. This look provides JPEG images with a unique analogue look and feel. With Leica Looks, you can create images that can be shared with the world directly from your camera, easily with the Leica FOTOS app.
