The Venus Optics LAOWA 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D for Nikon FX and DX is an ultra wide-angle lens ideal for astrophotography, thanks to its low maximum aperture of f/2.8.

The Laowa 12mm F2.8 Zero-D Nikon AI is a ultrawide-angle lens, with a rectilinear optical design. The lens is specifically designed to reduce distortion to an absolute minimum, for clear and accurate images of landscapes and architecture. The optical construction features two aspherical elements and three Extra-Low Dispersion elements, to control spherical and chromatic aberrations for improved sharpness and reduced colour fringing. The lens boasts Frog Eye coating: this repels dust and water, which is ideal when taking pictures in bad weather conditions. A built-in petal-shaped lens hood protects the lens from stray light to reduce flare and ghosting in situations with bright light.
