Hoya HDX UV filter 67mm
The 67mm Hoya HDX UV filter from Hoya is an absolute top quality UV filter. Hoya itself even refers to the HDX series as 'Best filter performance in history'. The filter is made of special optically toughened glass, giving it 4x the tensile strength of traditional filters. The filter is made specifically for today's digital market, in which sensors are more sensitive to reflected light than in the analogue era.The Hoya HDX filter features special coatings that reduce internal reflections, thereby delivering a clearer, brighter and sharper image. The multi-coating in the HDX filter consists of 8 (!) layers on each side. This ensures maximum optical performance and a light transmission of as much as 99.4%. This also ensures that the filter is water-, dirt-, and scratch-resistant, making it more pleasant to use and longer-lasting.
Finally, the mount is made of highly durable black anodised aluminium, which completely seals off the filter glass, preventing moisture and light from entering undesirably. This mount is also extra thin, so you will not suffer from vignetting, as is the case with many of the cheaper filters. This makes it perfect for use with wide-angle lenses as well.
