This Breakthrough 58mm X2 UV Filter is a clear filter for general use, designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional colouration or contrast is created and adjustments to the exposure are not required while using this filter. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections while providing 98.9% light transmission, each glass surface has two layers of anti-reflective coating. This Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) also offers better protection of the filter substrate and helps to stay clean longer than uncoated filters. The nano coating associated with X2 UV filters provides an additional fifth layer over the front, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency. This UV filter is made of Asahi glass for improved optical clarity and colour fidelity and features a thin filter ring to minimise the risk of vignetting. It is also weather-resistant and can be used as a general protective filter leave on your lens at all times.
