The Artisan & Artist ACAM 317 Sazanami Silk strap in black/red is a camera strap made from silk braiding, cherished as a stylish accessory for traditional Japanese clothing. This strap is made from a wide braid called "Sasanami-gumi". The "sasanami pattern" is one of the representative designs for kimonos, also known as the "Michinaga pattern", as it was a favourite design of Michinaga Fujiwara, a powerful court noble from the Heian period (794–1185). This traditional and distinctive sasanami pattern, used as high-quality decoration for kimonos such as obijime, is used as the pattern for these silk straps.

The leather and hand stitching used to attach the strap to the camera (root leather) are kept simply all-black to accentuate the unique strap design. In addition to feeling comfortable against the skin, as only silk can, it has a moderate amount of stretch and can be wrapped around the hand. It is an item that combines ease of use with a fashionable appearance.

This silk strap is available in two lengths: this is the shorter version, suitable for wearing around the neck or over the shoulder.
