Everything you need for autumn photography

Everything you need for autumn photography

Heading out for the day to capture the stunning autumn colours? We've put together a few must-haves for you. These items should not be missing from your camera bag when you set out to capture an autumn landscape!

Macro lenses

For beautiful close-ups, a macro lens is indispensable. With this lens you can capture gorgeous details of mushrooms, the texture of leaves or, for example, dewdrops in a spider web. If you don't have a macro lens, you can also use a telephoto lens with an extension tube. An extension tube reduces the minimum focusing distance to your subject.

Tripods

One thing you absolutely shouldn't leave behind when heading into the woods is a tripod that can go low to the ground. A tripod offers more stability, so you're less affected by camera shake. A (mini) tripod is also essential if you want to shoot with slower shutter speeds. A small tabletop tripod fits easily in your bag and can be placed on all kinds of surfaces. You can of course also hold it in your hand. This gives you just that little bit of extra stability you miss when shooting handheld.

Ring flashes

A ring flash is ideal for product photography, of course, but it can also come in very handy for macro photography. A ring flash gives you beautiful, even lighting on your subject, such as a lovely mushroom.

Filters

There are many different types of filters, each suited to a different kind of photography. Filters are perhaps the most widely used photography accessory. Think, for example, of a macro filter, a polarising filter or an ND filter.

LED lights and reflectors

To take beautiful macro photos, it can be handy to bring an LED light and a reflector. With a light you can, for example, illuminate the underside of a mushroom to bring out the details.

Rain covers

In autumn, the weather can go either way. A rain cover for your camera is therefore indispensable in your camera bag. If it (unexpectedly) starts to rain, you can protect your camera and lens properly. That way you can focus completely on your subject. Rain covers come in different colours and sizes. Take a look at our range and find the perfect one for your camera!
